Four
Swedish animal rights activists from Umeå arrested following a raid
on the mink farm in Umgransele in the spring of 2009 have been sentenced
to ommunity service. The three women and one man were arrested in a car
with false plates and investigations proved that they had been inside the
mink farm. At the trial it was revealed that the operation was well planned,
but none of the defendants would answer the prosecutor's questions. In addition
to community service for 75 days, they were also sentenced to pay damages
of more than SEK 20 000 (£1,700) to the owner of the mink farm.
