It seems that every time HLS submits a new document to the SEC, they offer
words of encouragement to activists. Today, HLS announced third quarter
results. As of September 30, revenues were down 25% from one year ago. Also
in the documents filed today, HLS clarified the risks faced by the company.
Here's the original text from HLS' 2008 Annual Report (Form 10-K):
"The Company depends on third parties to provide it with services critical to its business. The failure of any of these third parties to adequately provide the needed services could have a material adverse effect on the Company’s business."
Here's today's amended version: "The Company depends on third parties to provide it with products and services for its business. In the event of a failure of any of these third parties to adequately provide the products or services, the Company could have difficulty in obtaining alternative sources of the products and services due to the activities of animal rights extremists and this could have a material adverse effect on the Company’s business."
